Liberty Horsemanship see how horses from Australian Outback Spectacular are trained at liberty. That is without use of any tack, ropes, halters, or other restraints.
Treibball/Herdball is a new, exciting, fast paced game of fun and herding without sheep, ducks or cattle. A very visually exciting game to watch, Treibball/Herdball uses “big colourful balls” which the dogs herd around a field and into a goal.
Nosework is another exciting new dog sport that any breed can learn. The demonstration involves setting up a race between a volunteer out of the audience using their eyes and hands to open boxes to find a money reward versus the dog that will only use his nose to sniff out his reward of dog food.
Duck herding over bridges and through gateways, showing the skills of Australia’s working dogs on actual livestock.
NATIONAL DRY DOCK CHAMPIONSHIPS
It’s as simple as it sounds: you and your dog, on a dock, having a blast! Dock diving is an exciting performance sport that is all about fun for dogs, owners and spectators. The sport is open to all dogs regardless of breed, size, shape, ability or age.
QUEENSLAND FLYBALL COMPETITION
The Gold Coast Pet & Animal Expo will host the first ever Nationals Competition in the Southern Hemisphere since the World Dog Games in 2009.
